Are you, or someone you know needing assistance earning a GED? Lewis County’s GRAVITY GED - Plus Program can help.  We work with students, ages 16-21, who left school without earning their diploma, and are now ready to get back on track.  Along with GED and high school completion assistance, GRAVITY also provides workforce training and the opportunity to earn one’s food handler card, or become certified in flagging, forklift operation, or as a Microsoft Office Specialist.  All costs are covered by one’s enrollment in the program, so there are no out-of-pocket expenses to our students or their families.  For many eligible students, transportation to and from a training site is one of the greatest obstacles they face. This program overcomes this challenge by taking the classes to the student, and when they are ready to test, providing transportation to and from Centralia College, to take their exams, if needed.  If this program sounds like something you, a family member, or a friend can benefit from, please contact Jim Dailey at 360-508-3176.

The Chehalis-Centralia Cribbage Club meets at 6:30 pm every Thursday at the Moose Lodge located at 1400 Grand Ave., Centralia.  Contact Scott at (360)485-2852 for more information.

Welcome Visitors to Centralia-Chehalis when they attend activities at Borst Park Sports Complex. The Sports Complex is being used by Little League, junior and high school, community college, and select leagues for baseball and soccer league tournaments throughout the weeks and on every weekend from now through August. The last week of August will bring the Regional Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament. Because of this, there is a potential of 30,000 people coming throughout the summer. Visitors look for things to do when they are not involved in their games/activities and having your business information in the kiosk will let people know you are here. Kiosk is located right in the center of the parking lot. You provide the rack cards or tri-fold brochures  and Centralia Rotary keeps your pocket full and notifies you when more materials are needed. Cost is $60.00 a year. Call Flossie Heymann at 360-623-1106 if you are interested in promoting positive economic activity in our community. Shortly after birth, her family found out that she had rare heart defect where the aorta is wrapped around her trachea and esophagus. They were told she would need surgery to repair this before starting solid foods. While in the hospital to have this procedure done, the cardiologist discovered that Madisyn has a lot more going on with her heart than anyone knew about. There is a lot of pressure in her heart right now and it is enlarged because of it. Madisyn will need to have open heart surgery. Please pray for baby Madisyn and her family as they begin this journey to mend her broken heart. Kevin and Christina Yeung also have 3 boys; the family will be heading to Stanford (California) as soon as they get a surgery date. The doctors said Madi needs surgery soon for "extensive reconstruction of her pulmonary artery and pulmonary branches". Kevin and Christina are told the surgeon there is the world's best at pulmonary reconstruction. The surgeons who will be operating on Madisyn have just released a study in The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. This study just came out last month and it is unlike any other type of surgery that is being done elsewhere. The expenses add up fast and can be overwhelming, please consider helping this local family…Doors open at 2:00 live auction starts at 3:00 For more information &/or to donate please contact:  Katie- 360.250.3210 Keep updated on Madi go to…  YouCaring.com (search Yeung)
